Chapter 1 - The Echoes of the Hearth

The morning sun filtered through the high-end windows of the luxury villa, casting a warm, deceptive amber glow across the pristine white marble countertops of the modern kitchen. But inside this architectural masterpiece, the atmosphere was suffocating. Elena stood near the center island, her shoulders hunched under an unbearable weight. She wore a simple pale yellow button-down shirt, her dark hair hastily twisted into a messy bun that mirrored her fraying sanity. Cradled tightly in her arms was her newborn baby, wrapped snugly in a beige swaddle, wailing with a piercing, inconsolable grief. Elena’s eyes were bloodshot and completely flooded with tears, her face a portrait of absolute exhaustion and helplessness. She had been running on zero sleep, tending to the infant while simultaneously managing the impossible demands of the household, yet the sanctuary she had dreamed of sharing with her new family had morphed into an emotional prison.
