Chapter 5 - The Glass Avalanche

Rocco did not answer.

He didn't waste oxygen on a dead man's name.

He shifted his weight backward, planting his leather heel firmly into the polished stone.

His right arm whipped forward.

The movement was a terrifying blur of charcoal wool.

The palm of Rocco's hand connected directly with the younger man's cheekbone.

The sound was a sickening, hollow crack.

It echoed louder than a gunshot in the confined, acoustic perfection of the luxury lobby.

The sheer force of the impact lifted the younger man entirely off his feet.

The blue suit flew backward through the air, completely airborne and out of control.

His spine slammed brutally into the heavy, carved wooden logo sign of the club.

The thick mahogany splintered with a deafening crunch.

The kinetic momentum carried his limp body horizontally across the center of the room.

He crashed headfirst into the towering, multi-tiered champagne ice display.

The entire structure collapsed instantly.

Massive blocks of sculpted ice shattered into a thousand jagged, glittering diamonds.

Dozens of green glass bottles exploded upon impact, spraying glass shrapnel across the floor.

Vintage champagne erupted like a geyser.

The golden liquid soaked the plush carpet and instantly ruined the man's tailored blue suit.

The younger man hit the floor hard, tangled in splintered mahogany and crushed ice.

A thick line of dark red blood immediately pooled at the corner of his split lip.
