Chapter 8 - The Executioners Arrive
The heavy glass revolving door spun again, its mechanical mechanism whirring in the high atrium.
Four men dressed in sharp, dark charcoal suits stepped into the lobby, led by an older man carrying a thick leather briefcase. Their heavy leather shoes clicked in unison across the marble floor, moving with the practiced, terrifying efficiency of corporate liquidators.
The older man stopped beside Julian, bowing his head slightly in respect. "We have executed the emergency injunction, Mr. Vance. The local sheriff's department has been notified, and the private security detail is waiting at the main gates."
Victoria took a step back, her heel hitting the first riser of the spiral staircase. "Security? In my home?!"

The lawyer pulled a thick stack of legal documents from his briefcase, his face devoid of emotion as he looked at the blonde woman on the stairs. "Mrs. Vance, as of 08:15 AM, ownership of the Montgomery Estate has been fully transferred to the Vance Charitable Relief Foundation, under the direct stewardship of Miss Clara Lin. You have forty-five minutes to pack one bag of personal garments. Any attempt to remove art, jewelry, or financial records will result in immediate felony grand theft charges."
"Clara Lin?!" Victoria shrieked, her voice echoing grotesquely against the high glass ceilings. "She's a maid! She's a nobody!"
