Chapter 15 - The New Dawn

Three months later, the morning sun rose bright and golden over Central Park, painting the yellowing autumn leaves in brilliant shades of amber and bronze.
The news of the Vane Estate’s total collapse had dominated international headlines for weeks, exposing a shadow network of corporate espionage that reached into the highest corridors of power. Victor Vane and Clara were facing life sentences in maximum-security federal facilities.
In a quiet, sunlit corner of the park, Arthur Vance sat on a green wooden bench, dressed in a comfortable grey wool coat. His shoulder had healed, though he walked with a slight cane.
Running across the grass nearby were Leo and Maya. Maya was dressed in a bright yellow coat, her blonde hair flying in the wind as she chased a golden retriever puppy, her laughter ringing pure and clear through the morning air. Leo walked beside her, his clothes clean, his face free of soot, a calm and protective smile on his young face.
Julianna walked up the stone path, holding two paper cups of hot coffee. She sat down beside her father, handing him a cup.
"They're happy, Father," Julianna said quietly, watching her children play.

Arthur took a sip of the warm coffee, his eyes reflecting the golden sunlight filtering through the trees. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the old black-and-white photograph—now safely preserved inside a clear glass frame.
"We're all safe now, Julianna," Arthur whispered, resting his hand over hers. "The cipher is gone. The darkness is over. It's time to finally live."
