Chapter 15 - The Unbroken House

That evening, as the stars began to appear above the pine trees surrounding the estate, the Sterling Manor was filled with light, music, and laughter.
In the newly renovated dining room, a long oak table was set with simple white porcelain plates, fresh yellow flowers, and warm bread.
Richard, Elena, and Leo sat together around the table, eating a quiet, peaceful dinner.
Soft piano music played from a small speaker in the corner—a piece Sarah used to play on quiet Sunday afternoons.
Leo was chattering happily about his plans for building a treehouse in the ancient oak tree behind the garage, his small hands gesturing wildly as he described the rope ladder and the wooden telescope he wanted to install on the roof.
Richard watched his son, his heart full, resting his hand over Sarah's small silver ring, which he now wore on a chain around his neck beneath his sweater.
Elena cleared the empty plates, smiling as she placed a warm apple pie in the center of the table.
"Everything looks perfect, Mr. Sterling," Elena said softly, laying a hand on Richard's shoulder.
Richard looked around the warm room—at the dark wood floors, the soft yellow light streaming from the lamps, the laughter of his son, and the open doors leading out to the quiet, peaceful garden.
The house of glass and canes was gone.

In its place stood a real home—a sanctuary built not on secrets, fear, or corporate greed, but on love, truth, and unbroken strength.
"Yes, Elena," Richard said, holding his son's small hand across the wooden table as he smiled into the warm evening light. "It really is perfect."
