Chapter 13 - The Unraveling of Victoria

The monitor was no longer showing the security logs.
When Maya had hit the desk lamp, her bypass drive had triggered an automated secondary dump—a deep-level extraction of Arthur’s encrypted local storage.
Dozens of audio files and scanned documents were rapidly opening across the multiple screens.
Julian slowly released his grip on his brother’s collar, standing up with his eyes wide, fixed on the central monitor.
There were hundreds of voice recordings spanning three years. Arthur had been secretly recording every conversation he had ever had with Victoria Vance in this room. He hadn't just been her accomplice; he had been keeping an insurance file on her to ensure she never turned on him.
Julian clicked on the most recent audio file, dated yesterday evening.
Victoria’s cold, crisp voice echoed through the high-tech speakers of the study:
"...The child must be humiliated publicly, Arthur. If we create a scandal big enough on the lawn, Julian will be forced to choose between the family legacy and that common whore. If he chooses her, I will declare him mentally unfit to execute his duties, and you will take his place on the board. Make sure the cameras show Maya disabling the security... I want her arrested for child endangerment before the week is out."
The voice recording played in absolute clarity, destroying every remaining illusion, every lie, and every shadow Victoria had built around herself.
Julian stood frozen in the center of the room. The sheer scale of his mother’s sociopathic malice hit him with the force of a freight train. She hadn't just hated Maya; she had planned to systematically destroy his wife, trauma-bed a three-year-old child, and put him through a psychological meat grinder just to retain absolute control over her empire.

Arthur lay on the floor, breathing heavily, bleeding from his lip, staring up at the screens in utter, horrifying realization.
"It's over, Arthur," Maya said softly, standing beside her husband, her hand reaching out to wrap tightly around Julian’s trembling fingers. "It's all over."
