Chapter 4 - The Titan's Entrance

The sudden, violent intrusion froze everyone in their tracks. The four security guards stopped mid-stride, their heads snapping around. Victoria’s furious shouting died in her throat, her mouth left half-open.
Framed within the wide doorway stood a tall, imposing figure.
He was a man in his late thirties, possessing a towering, athletic build that radiated absolute, undeniable authority. He wore a bespoke, dark navy velvet tuxedo that fit his broad shoulders with tailored precision. His thick, dark hair was silvered slightly at the temples, framing a face defined by a sharp, regal jawline and piercing, slate-gray eyes that swept over the ballroom like searchlights.
Behind him stood three personal bodyguards—men dressed in tactical charcoal suits, possessing the silent, deadly posture of former elite special forces operators.
The entire ballroom went dead silent. The air grew so thin that the sound of flickering candles seemed loud.
Victoria’s facial expression underwent a terrifying, instantaneous collapse. The rage evaporated from her features, replaced by a pale, hollow shock that drained every drop of color from her lips.
The man in the navy tuxedo was Alexander Vance.
He was not merely Arthur Vance's older brother; he was the reclusive, legendary patriarch of the Vance Corporation—a man whose net worth could purchase the Sterling family’s entire portfolio tenfold, and whose ruthless legal team had dismantled multi-billion-dollar conglomerates overnight. He rarely appeared in public, living a fiercely private life following the tragic death of his wife two years prior.
Alexander didn't look at the glittering guests. He didn't look at the crystal chandelier or the waiters freezing in place. His slate-gray eyes locked directly onto the center of the room.
Off-screen, from behind David’s leg, a small, wet voice broke the heavy silence of the hall.
"Daddy!" Maya squeaked, her tiny hand pointing past David’s knee toward the doorway.
Alexander’s cold, stoic expression fractured. In a fraction of a second, the terrifying corporate titan vanished, replaced by a father driven by raw, visceral panic.
He broke into a rapid, heavy stride across the marble floor, his long legs covering the distance in seconds, his three tactical bodyguards flanking him like a dark storm cloud.

Victoria tried to step forward, forcing a trembling, terrified smile onto her pale lips. "Alexander... Mr. Vance! I... I didn't know you were arriving early! There was a terrible incident with an intruder—"
Alexander didn't even look at her. As he passed Victoria, he casually shoved her shoulder aside with such cold, effortless force that she stumbled backward into her security guards.
