Chapter 6 - The Shattered Mask

The revelation hit the grand hall like a physical shockwave.

The wealthy socialites watching from the grand staircase exchanged horrified, bewildered glances. The hushed whispers that had previously condemned the young maid instantly turned into sharp, biting gasps aimed directly at Victoria. The illusion of her aristocratic perfection, cultivated over a decade of high-society events and charitable galas, disintegrated into dust in less than four seconds.

Victoria stood frozen on the marble floor, her face pale as a sheet, her lips parted in utter, paralyzed disbelief. Her eyes darted frantically from the television screen above the hearth to the faces of the guests surrounding her, watching as their respect turned into absolute, unadulterated disgust.

"This... this is a mistake," Victoria stammered, her voice cracking as the theatrical confidence completely evaporated from her frame. "The video... it's been edited! It's a technical glitch! Julian, you can't possibly believe—"

Maya, still kneeling on the floor, looked up at the television screen through a haze of tears. Her mouth opened in a sharp gasp of pure shock as the truth hung displayed before the entire city's elite. The crushing weight of false guilt evaporated from her chest, replaced by an overwhelming, breathless surge of relief. She wasn't crazy. She wasn't ruined. The truth had found its light.

Julian stepped closer to Victoria, his tall frame looming over her as he lowered the remote control to his side. His face remained an unyielding sculpture of cold, uncompromising judgment.

"You framed her," Julian said, his voice echoing loudly through the silent lobby so that every guest heard every word with terrifying clarity.
