THE LENS OF DECEIT / Chapter 15 / 15

Chapter 15 - The Final Frame

The camera angle moves back into a high, full-shot static frame inside the grand hallway—the exact perspective of the hidden ceiling lens that had captured the nightmare three weeks ago.

The dark hardwood floors are polished and pristine. The cream-colored walls glow with soft, natural daylight streaming through the sheer curtains of the living room.

On the walnut console table, where the broken Ming vase once stood, sits a new centerpiece: a simple, beautifully crafted clear glass vase filled with fresh, bright yellow sunflowers.

There are no dark shadows in the corners. No whispers behind closed doors. No locked wardrobes.

Through the open French doors at the far end of the hallway, Julian, Elena, and Noah can be seen sitting together on the garden bench, laughing as a small brown bird lands on the newly finished wooden birdhouse.

The digital timestamp in the bottom right corner of the screen flashes softly in white text:

LIVE FEED: VANCE ESTATE - SECURE.

The camera holds the shot for five peaceful seconds.

The screen fades slowly to black, leaving behind only the quiet, triumphant warmth of a home reclaimed from the dark.
